Mantas Radzvilas is a Research Fellow at the University of Salzburg. His research spans formal epistemology, decision and game theory, and the philosophy of probability and statistics. He studies rational belief and choice under uncertainty, with particular interests in Bayesian learning, ambiguity, and applications to artificial intelligence. Combining philosophical analysis with mathematical methods and computational modelling, he examines how idealising assumptions shape formal models of inference and decision-making, and how their conclusions change when those assumptions are relaxed. His interests encompass both the theoretical foundations of these models and their use in scientific and statistical practice.
Before joining Salzburg, he was a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Konstanz. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and serves on the editorial board of Theory and Decision.
