Javad is a PhD student at the University of Vienna working on metaphysics and metaethics. His research explores metaethical questions by means of metaphysical notions such as grounding, essence, and fundamentality. In particular, his project investigates questions like: (1) whether and how normative facts are grounded, (2) how different metaethical theories, especially non-naturalism, can be formulated using metaphysical notions, and (3) how normative authority interacts with the metaphysics of normativity. He is also interested in general metaphysical questions on grounding and fundamentality.
